Reservers of the BYD Seal will be entered into a drawing until April 30th to win tickets to a UEFA match; e-sedan to compete Ioniq 5 and EV6
BYD Seal
BYD Seal: With a scheduled launch in India tomorrow, reservations are now being accepted for the BYD Seal electric sedan. The Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4 are the electric sedan’s competitors worldwide. Nevertheless, given the pricing, it will compete locally for attention with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. About Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) is the estimated cost.
Via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, it will be introduced in India. An opportunity to win tickets to a UEFA match exists for those who reserve the model before April 30, 2024. The biggest electric car manufacturer in the world is also the official e-mobility partner of the UEFA EURO 2024 competition.
Three trim levels—Dynamic, Premium, and Performance—are offered for the BYD Seal EV in international markets. India may receive all three trim levels at launch, or at the very least the base RWD trim with an 82.5 kWh battery pack. The e-sedan has gained favourable reviews abroad and is now eligible to compete for the title of 2024 World Car of the Year.
The emission-free car runs on an 800-volt electrical system and has a curb weight of slightly more than two tonnes. Driven by a 360 Nm torque and 230 PS electric motor mounted at the back, it can travel up to 570 km on the WLTP cycle. The battery can be charged in just 37 minutes from 10 to 80 percent with the help of a 150 kW DC fast charger.
The vehicle is spacious, measuring 4.8 metres long by 1.87 metres wide by 1.46 metres tall with a wheelbase that reaches 2.92 metres. It utilises the e-platform 3.0 and has technological characteristics in common with the Atto 3. There are four hundred litres of storage space in the trunk, plus an extra fifty litres in the frunk.
Fully charged batteries can be achieved in 8.6 hours with the 11 kW AC charger that comes standard. With a rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, ADAS, nine airbags, and a host of other high-end features, the BYD Seal can accelerate from zero to hundred kmph in 5.9 seconds.
