In India, Kawasaki has finally released the highly anticipated Ninja ZX-6R. The deadly track weapon, which costs Rs 11.09 lakh, is imported into the nation in its entirety via the CBU route. It is anticipated that the sports bike deliveries will begin by the end of January 2024.
The Ninja ZX-6R, which made its debut at the most recent India Bike Week (IBW), comes in two color options: metallic graphite gray and lime green, and is offered in a single fully loaded trim. It’s interesting to note that the Ninja ZX-6R from the previous generation was briefly available in India before it was phased out.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R styling and features
The flagship Ninja ZX-10R serves as the stylistic model for the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R. With a new windshield, a revised cowl, and a twin LED headlamp setup, it maintains Kawasaki’s iconic supersport styling. This gives the fully-faired sports bike a more angular look. Split seats, a floating tail section, a powerful fuel tank, and an upswept dual-barrel exhaust canister are some of the other eye-catching features.
Features-wise, the Ninja ZX-6R has a brand-new 4.3-inch fully digital TFT color instrumentation, full LED lighting, three riding modes (Sport, Road, and Rain), and an extra Rider (manual) mode. It can also be connected to a smartphone using Kawasaki’s Rideology App. Information from the instrument cluster is available, including vehicle logs and navigation data. Kawasaki’s three-mode switchable traction control system acts as a safety net.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R mechanical specs
The Ninja ZX-6R’s hardware specifications consist of a two-piece aluminum die-cast sub-frame and a pressed aluminum perimeter frame. Showa monoshocks at the back and 41mm upside-down front Showa Big Piston forks support this setup. The bike is equipped with alloy wheels and Pirelli Diablo RossoTM IV tires.
Two 320 mm discs up front, matched with brand-new Nissin 4-piston callipers, and a 220 mm disc at the back are used for braking. A dual-channel ABS helps the braking system. While ground clearance is meager at 130mm, seat height is fixed at 830mm.
A 636cc liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder DOHC engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox powers the Ninja ZX-6R. This motor produces a maximum torque of 69 Nm and 122.3 bhp. With the help of a RAM air intake, power output can be temporarily increased to 127 horsepower. A bi-directional quickshifter and a slip-and-assist clutch have made gear changes seamless.
