The first-ever Mahindra vehicle unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 is the Mahindra XUV300 Flex Fuel. In addition, Mahindra debuted at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 with one of its best off-road fully electric BE Rall-E electric XUVs. The Mahindra XUV300 Flex Fuel is unchanged from the model that it replaces.
Presently, the company is shifting its focus towards CNG electric and flex fuel vehicles due to the escalating costs of gasoline and diesel in the Indian market. However, in some ways, it is safer for the environment and more advantageous than gasoline and diesel. But currently, CNG cars lack power, and electric vehicles are prohibitively expensive. The unveiled XUV300 Flex Fuel uses a 1.2-liter inline, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a manual gearbox. This engine option generates 109 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. The great thing about this engine option is that it is compatible with Flex Fuel.
The turbocharged petrol engine has been operated under the Government of India’s new BS6 Phase 2 and is now also operated under E85, making it ready to run completely on ethanol blended fuel up to 85% percent. . Currently, 20% ethanol blended fuel (E20) is used in the Indian market.
