In the Indian market, the Renault Duster has practically attained cult-like status. The Duster would have competed head-to-head with the Hyundai Creta, which leads the segment if it weren’t for Renault’s sluggish behavior. Nevertheless, India will see the return of the Duster. Dacia has already revealed the new Duster, Renault’s sibling brand. How soon will it arrive in India? Let’s discuss the revised launch schedule for the Renault Duster.

When to expect?

Dacia has introduced the Duster in Europe, however, the India model will differ slightly. The majority of the external and internal design is anticipated to remain unchanged, while there may be some minor adjustments. On the India model, further features are anticipated to be added. Due to the modifications, the new Duster is not scheduled to be released in India until the second half of 2025. It will be a while before Renault releases a problem-free product in India, but hopefully, it will.

Design

The new Duster’s tough yet contemporary design language preserves the essence of the previous model. Rectangular LED headlamps with LED DRLs neatly sliced through them are standard on the front of the vehicle. The Duster furthermore includes LED fog lamps. We have 18-inch alloy wheels and black cladding in the side profile. Interestingly, Renault mounted the handle for the back door on the C-Pillar. Instead of a shark fin antenna, we have a sporty spoiler and a regular antenna on the back. The new Duster has a boxy overall appearance but unique design elements.

Although the Duster’s dashboard is simple, it seems incredibly useful. To Dacia’s credit, it has successfully merged contemporary features with a tough exterior. The center console is slanted slightly to the driver’s side, making it easier to access the controls. Renault has maintained the HVAC controls’ tactile buttons. It has many different phone charging methods, including wireless and 12V sockets.

Features

The Duster’s features include a 10-inch touchscreen system, an automated parking brake, a 6-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Additional options for the Indian model can include a sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, etc. Automatic emergency braking, identification of vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, traffic sign recognition with speeding alert, rear parking assistant, lane change warning and assistance, and other functions are included in the worldwide model of ADAS.

The Duster is available with a wide range of engine options worldwide. Among these choices is a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 120 horsepower. Next in line is a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 168 horsepower. This tune will become the most potent vehicle in this class if introduced to India. Additionally, this unit complies with flex-fuel. The last engine, the 1.2-liter hybrid, uses a 9kWh battery pack to provide 140 horsepower. If Renault introduces this plug-in alternative to India, it has the potential to transform the hybrid market there completely.
