Suzuki Motorcycles: India is looking at a local assembly of its flagship sports motorcycle, the Hayabusa and this announcement is likely to take place soon. The Hayabusa is one of the most desirable motorcycles in the world and has a large fan following as well.
Due to its high price tag, Suzuki Motorcycles’ Inazuma motorbike failed to gain traction in the Indian market when they began assembly operations. For customers, however, a locally assembled Hayabusa is good news.
For Suzuki, the Hayabusa GSX1300R has drawn large crowds and sold respectable numbers. The approximate cost (on-road) is INR 17.5 lakhs. A CKD assembly will result in a price reduction of around Rs 2.5 lakhs. We will shortly publish the new price.
The 1,340cc engine that powers the Suzuki Hayabusa generates an incredible 196 horsepower and 154 Nm of peak torque. There is a 6-speed manual gearbox paired with this engine. In the annals of motorcycle history, the Hayabusa has stood the test of time as the quickest production motorcycle.
The Hayabusa GSX1300R’s measurements are 1,165 mm in height, 737 mm in width, and 2,190 mm in length. It had 120 mm of ground clearance and a 1,480 mm wheelbase. It measures 805 mm high in the seat. The Hayabusa weighs 266 kg at the curb and has a 21-liter fuel tank. The bike has a link-type rear suspension with coil springs and oil dampers, an inverted telescopic fork with coil springs, dual disc brakes up front, and a single disc brake in the back.
The Suzuki Hayabusa’s local assembly will increase pressure on other manufacturers to lower the cost of their flagship products.
