For over a year, the Altroz Racer—India’s real hot hatch—that was unveiled as a concept at the Auto Expo 2023 was hidden from view. Time travel: At the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show, Tata Motors has once again shown off the Altroz Racer and sparked much excitement among the crowd. It will also have a powerful turbocharged petrol engine and be feature-rich. What can we anticipate from the Tata Altroz Racer, then?
Tata Altroz Racer – Specifications
It should come as no surprise that we begin today’s post with the specs because Altroz Racer is primarily about performance. Therefore, the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine will power the Altroz Racer. The Nexon’s engine, which generates 118 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque, is the same one. This engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox for the Altroz Racer. To improve the entire driving experience of the Altroz Racer, Tata is likely to provide the DCA option.
Exterior
Apart from the potent engine, the Altroz Racer will be the same as the standard Altroz. Nonetheless, Tata is probably going to offer a new Orange body color along with a blacked-out hood and roof. Two white strips that run along the hood and roof of the Altroz Racer are visible to improve the overall appearance. Sportier alloy wheels and a dynamic rear spoiler are two further modifications.
Tata Altroz Racer – Interior & Features
Tata has replaced the beige interior motif of the Altroz Racer with an all-black cabin. Naturally, a black motif will improve the hatchback’s personality. A few more design features include the orange highlights surrounding the AC vents and the white and orange stripes on the seats. The orange stitching on the armrest and leatherette seats is also visible. Although the dashboard’s general design remains the same, a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster are now located within.
For the Altroz Racer, even the feature list has been upgraded. A sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, ventilated seats, wireless charging, projector headlamps, and many other features will be available for the vehicle.

In India, Tata has unveiled the Altroz Racer for the second time. Early testing was observed, suggesting an early launch. Tata Motors has not released an official announcement, but it is anticipated that the Altroz Racer will go on sale in the second half of 2024. When it comes to cost, we can anticipate that the Altroz Racer will be priced extremely competitively with the Hyundai i20 N series. Having said that, the Altroz Racer is anticipated to cost between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 14 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
