A luxurious, futuristic-looking car with a good 300 hp from its engine and an equally fantastic performance of a 302-mile range, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq compact luxury EV looks poised to audaciously enter the brand-new arena.
You could admire it from a distance. But the interior experience of the Optiq is where the charm happens. Cadillac’s latest electric SUV has an “iw” ending to its name, a branding that will draw the odd glances of many, but it carries no gremlins in how this EV shines. Cadillac might have an instantaneous smash hit in its possession.
Sleek Looks, Smart Size
Optiq speaks in a fashion language of neat elegance and powerful modernity. With what could have been lifted from the work of a geometry student, the designers have presented a composition of elements short hood, an upright windshield with a large slope, and a laid-back rear glass- that elongates the silhouette to an extent rarely undertaken by the competition, 116.3 inches of wheelbase by 189.8 inches overall. An example of comparison can be drawn with the Audi Q4 e-Tron, with a wheelbase of just 108.7 inches and overall length of 180.6 inches, and none are as. Some of the contenders that are part of the short-lived group are Mercedes-Benz EQB and Genesis GV70.
The long wheelbase has some practical purpose. Located inside the hollow areas as per its configuration, the largest battery in that category is of 85.0 kWh capacity. That said, the EPA range of an IQ stands at 302 miles, which is significantly superior to 207 miles for an EQB, 258 miles for Q4, and sitting at 264 miles for a GV60.

Refined Performance
Underneath the exquisite-looking skin is installed a dual motor arrangement for all-wheel drive. This means that the front wheels are powered full-time by the permanent-magnet synchronous motor, and the rear wheels will be activated by an induction motor as and when required-primarily for acceleration. Smart thinking by Cadillac to put the PSM up front to help the regenerative braking effects and overall balance.
Setting a strong vibe of 300 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, it accelerates briskly. While we have not yet had the time to test this in the books, it feels right around 5.5 seconds to reach 60 mph, just about on par with its competitors.
It brakes smoothly and intuitively with a decent amount of regenerative braking, which is all but enough for one-pedal driving most of the time. The occasional integration of friction brakes will be required, but the transition is transparent.

Balanced Handling, Comfortable Ride
Another major focus is Cadillac’s “Passive Plus” suspension. No air springs or dampers adaptively here, but this thing has been very well tuned with frequency-dependent dampers that react to cornering vs bumps. It is composed on-road in the corners yet cushy upon breaking seal and pops.
The steering feels great and provides the right amount of feedback and precision that keeps you comfortable, whatever the travel underway, be it straight or negotiating the curves.
Upscale Interior with a Techy Touch
On the inside, the Optiq feels more premium than you might expect. The long wheelbase affords great legroom in both rows, and the materials are all of really good quality. Highlights include recycled, coarse-weave fabric on the dashboard and doors, stitched synthetic leather panels, and a massive 33-inch curved display mirroring that of the Lyriq.
For that sloping rear look, one big compromise is a little less room for cargo. But at a vast 26 cubic feet behind second-row seats, that equals its main contenders. There’s no front trunk, but with the charge port on the front fender, more space is left for the trunk in the rear.
The AKG Studio audio system, featuring Dolby Atmos, is another star attraction. It has 19 speakers and 3D audio technologies that can open up a concert-like experience. That being said, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are missing – you’re stuck with Google built-in for navigation and music streaming.
Features Galore And Reasonably Priced
Cadillac was trying to give good value with the Optiq. Every model comes standard with:
- Super Cruise (hands-free driving)
- Massaging front seats
- All safety aids
- AKG Dolby Atmos audio system
The Available trim options are:
- Luxury 1-$54,390
- Sport 1-$54,990 (body-colored trim, sportier wheels)
- Luxury 2-$56,590
- Sport 2-$57,090
Upgrading from Level 1 to Level 2 gets you those and other tempting goodies: HUD display, front seats with ventilation, eight-way adjustability, upgraded lights, air quality sensors, etc.
Customers can purchase the extras, such as two car chargers, a 19.2kW one, and some other customizations, for the 21-inch aluminum wheels and specialized paint finishes.
Something quite pertinent: Even when fully loaded, the Optiq undercuts its milieu, the Audi Q4, Mercedes EQB, and Genesis GV60, when the same trappings are added. Cadillac may have given it a questionable name, but the 2025 Optiq is anything but Icky.

Conclusion
The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is due for arrival in a class of electric SUVs where luxury, performance, and practicality can coexist in an awesome union. A brilliant design, spacious and tastefully interior, an impressive range of 302 miles, and a refined driving experience distinguish the Optiq as the definite spotlight of the compact luxury EVs.
In value-for-money terms, Super Cruise, massaging seats, and Dolby Atmos sound systems are ridiculous additions to the Optiq-a price sure to keep competitors awake and tossing in their sleep. In comparison to competitors like the Audi Q4, Mercedes-Benz EQB, and Genesis GV60, this hyper-luxurious car provides its customer with Ford Focus- or even Hyundai Ioniq-levels of value for money. While Cadillac may have put an “ick” in there, there is absolutely nothing icky about this perfectly styled and packaged EV.
