One important feature that the HTK model lacks despite having all the bells and whistles is an automated gearbox.

The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift, which includes numerous new feature improvements and major style modifications, recently went on sale. Kia is still considering the lesser trim levels, even if most of the latter are only available in the higher variants. Here is all the information you would need to choose the one-above-base HTK model of the 2024 Kia Sonet if you were seeking a low-cost option:

Design of Kia Sonet HTK

The Sonet HTK doesn’t appear to be a one-above-base variation in terms of design. There are halogen headlights in place of LEDs, no DRLs (though they do have a style outline), and just halogen taillights. However, the latter is still related, even though it is dark.

Additionally, the cladding components on the front and rear bumpers come in a distinct tint.

Details like the 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, the shark fin antenna, and the silver roof rack enhance the outside appearance even further.

First off, the HTK variant’s interior has an all-black style. The silver accents surrounding the steering wheel, central gear lever console, and odd air vents, however, break up the uniformity here.

The manual AC controls do appear a little dated, but happily, there’s an 8-inch infotainment screen with tactile dials and buttons on either side for different functions. The same controls seen in the far more expensive Seltos are even installed on the steering.

When it comes to the seats, they are semi-leatherette and completely black. On the plus side, you have rear sunshades that provide an extra layer of privacy. The rear occupants lack adjustable headrests, and the new Sonet does not have headrests for the center passenger.

The HTK doesn’t require you to give up any features, even though it is near the bottom of the variant range. The 8-inch infotainment system mentioned earlier, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4.2-inch semi-digital driver’s display, C-type chargers (one at the front, two at the back), tilt steering, electric ORVMs, rear AC vents, 6-speaker sound system, and rear sun shades are just a few of the decent accessories that come with it.

Six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, and seat belt reminders for every passenger are just a few of the many standard safety features that the Sonet is equipped with. To make parking easier, the HTK version also includes a rear-view camera.

There are two powertrain options available for the Sonet HTK: a 1.2-liter NA petrol with 83 horsepower and a 5-speed manual, and a 1.5-liter diesel with 115 horsepower and a 6-speed MT. For the 2024 Sonet, a new addition is the 6-speed MT for the diesel engine, which is also available in other models. However, the absence of an automated option is a disadvantage of the HTK type. Therefore, those who desire an automatic will unavoidably need to consider other options.

The Sonet is available with several different powertrains, one of which is a turbo-petrol engine. The engine options for each variation of the Sonet can be found here.

The pricing of the petrol-powered Kia Sonet HTK is Rs 8.79 lakh, whereas the diesel-powered model costs Rs 10.39 lakh. For the top-spec Sonet with all the bells and whistles, you’ll have to shell out Rs 15.69 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Its competitors include the Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and Tata Nexon.
