The updated Porsche Taycan, which is anticipated to be introduced in India later this year, can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds.
Porsche Taycan Sedan:Porsche’s updated Taycan has been revealed. Given that the luxury performance electric sedan made its global debut in 2019, it makes sense that you’re looking at the first Taycan facelift ever. Improvements have been made to the Taycan’s efficiency, power, and range. Nevertheless, only the most perceptive of us will notice the sparse exterior updates. Let’s quickly review all of the new Taycan’s changes.
2024 Porsche Taycan Performance Gains
Although the complete list of revised specifications for every Porsche Taycan facelift variant and body type is still unknown, we are aware of the modifications made to the top-spec sedan variant. One of Porsche’s most potent road-legal models, the Taycan Turbo S, now generates 952 PS. The new Turbo S generates a massive 190 PS more power than the previous model. Due to this, the time to go from 0 to 100 km/h is only 2.4 seconds.
A new push-to-pass feature that provides a boost of up to 95 PS for 10 seconds is also available in versions with the Sport Chrono package. In contrast, the 408 PS standard rear-wheel-drive Taycan gains 82 PS more power than the previous model.
Increased Efficiency, More Range
Porsche has also made improvements to the battery, giving the Performance models a new 105 kWh battery pack (up from the 93.4 kWh unit) and the entry-level models an 89 kWh pack.
Porsche has also increased the Taycan’s range for all model variations. While the Taycan Turbo S models promise 558 – 630 km from a full charge (WLTP combined figures), the entry-level Taycan models currently claim a range of between 503 and 678 km. Additionally enhanced, the Taycan’s 800 V fast charging now supports quicker 320 kW charging, allowing for an 18-minute battery top-up from 10 to 80 percent.
A new and more potent rear-axle motor, as well as a number of technological advancements that enhance battery management and recuperation capabilities, are additional improvements to the Taycan facelift’s powertrain efficiency. It also has new 21-inch wheels and tires that were made with increased range in mind.
Updated Porsche Taycan Exteriors, Interiors and Features
The exterior has been modified with a redesigned headlight and tail light cluster, a lowered front wing, and a new 3D Porsche logo at the rear. The rear light bar and this logo, which can be illuminated optionally, can both play welcome and farewell animations.
An upgraded infotainment system, an optional leather-free cabin trim, and a revised gauge cluster are all included for the driver’s interior. More control over the ADAS system is anticipated thanks to a newly installed control lever on the left side, behind the steering wheel.
Along with an optional Porsche Active Ride system for all-wheel-drive models, Porsche has updated its chassis to include features like air suspension as standard. It is up to 15 kg lighter, even though the Taycan now comes with more standard.
