The Creta has emerged as the industry standard for cars priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. When switching from ICE to EV options, no car has been able to equal sales. With the ZS EV, MG is attempting something fresh right now. To undercut the pricing of the Creta mid-variants, it has introduced a new ZS EV variant. How is MG able to do this? Let’s investigate.
ZS EV
In honor of its centenary, MG has revised the prices of every model in its lineup. The ZS EV is offering the most discount because a new base variation called the Executive has been released. Before its release, the ZS EV’s base model, called Excite, cost Rs 24.22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The revised base model now costs Rs 20.13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), a significant Rs 4 lakh reduction.
More details
The Excite now costs Rs 21.18 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), which is a decrease in pricing as well. The Executive has a 10.1-inch infotainment system, alloy wheels, a digital instrument cluster, push button start/stop, auto air conditioning, six airbags, a reverse parking camera, etc. The Executive model lacks the aero wheel design, roof rails, vanity mirror, parcel shelf, luggage net, and black tape on the pillar found on the Excite.
MG ZS EV – Specifications
The Executive variation maintains the previous models’ specs. It has a 50.3kWh battery pack and a motor with 174 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. With this setup, its stated range is 461 km. Its performance is impressive; it can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in about 8.5 seconds.
