2025 Kia K4: Kia unveiled the 2025 K4’s design a week ago following the release of a pair of enigmatic teaser images. The upcoming Forte replacement, the new compact car, will sport the brand-new corporate design language that will be applied to the entire lineup. The K4 will make its official world debut at the New York auto show on March 27 of next week. No technical details have been disclosed.
Kia’s innovative ‘Opposites United style debuted on the 2025 Carnival minivan and 2024 Sorento SUV, and it now smoothly transitions to a smaller car. The K4’s headlights are fashioned like a T, joining a narrow rectangular grille to a point just above the front wheel arch. This point then flows into a characteristic crease that rises to meet the side view mirror. This crease is repeated over the rear wheels to form wide, flat haunches.
The K4 also has a unique D-pillar with chrome window trim that terminates abruptly in a triangular piece as it runs into a harsh vertical line, and a sloping fastback-style roofline akin to the mid-size K5 sedan. The L-shaped taillights are joined across the width of the trunk at the back.
The K4’s interior features a simple layout that’s been given an intriguing green tint. The gauge cluster and infotainment are integrated into a single, wide display that spans the dashboard. A tall horizontal chrome trim piece that holds the climate control vents rests beneath the screen, while physical buttons for features like “Home” and “Map” are still present above and below. There’s also a traditional physical gear selector that remains in place.
Similar powertrain options to the outgoing Forte, which comes with a 2.0-liter normally aspirated inline-four or a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four, are what we anticipate the K4 will offer. To rival the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the soon-to-be Honda Civic Hybrid, a hybrid model might be introduced. The EV4 electric variation might also come soon.
