2026 Dodge Durango: The Dodge Durango just went full muscle mode. Forget the V-6 — Dodge is giving every 2026 Durango a V-8 heart, from the base GT to the fire-breathing Hellcat. More power, more torque, and even a price drop for the top model? This is one SUV lineup that screams “America” with every rev.
V-6? Never Heard of Her.
For 2026, Dodge has kicked the 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 to the curb. The base GT trim now rocks the legendary 5.7 liter HEMI V-8, pumping out 360 horsepower and 390 lb ft of torque. That’s 65 more ponies and 50% more torque than before enough to shave over a second off the 0-60 mph sprint (now just 6.2 seconds).

The Big Change: V-8s Across the Board
In a move that will thrill performance fans Dodge has completely ditched the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 for 2026. Instead:
- GT Trim → Now packs a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 with 360 horsepower and 390 lb ft of torque (that’s +65 hp and +130 lb ft over the V-6). 0–60 mph drops to 6.2 seconds.
- R/T Trim The 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V-8 engine is pumped up to 475 horsepower and 470 lb ft of torque that is 115 more horsepower and 80 lb-ft more than last year.

Why the Switch?
While many automakers are downsizing engines or going electric, Dodge is doubling down on the good old American V-8. The move follows looser emissions regulations in the U.S., giving Dodge room to revive its Hemi dominance.
Pricing for 2026 Dodge Durango
- GT — Starts at $44,490 (+$4,000 from last year)
- R/T — $51,990 (same as 2025)
- SRT Hellcat — $81,990 (surprisingly $5,000 less than last year!)
Orders for the GT and Hellcat open August 13, with deliveries in late 2025. The R/T will be available to order later this year.
More Customization: Jailbreak Edition
For those who want their SUV to stand out even more, the Hellcat now offers a Jailbreak Edition — more paint colors, interior trims, and custom combinations than ever before.

Final Thoughts
The 2026 Dodge Durango isn’t just an SUV — it’s a statement. In a market shifting toward smaller, more fuel-efficient engines, Dodge is proudly flying the V-8 flag. Whether you want a family hauler with muscle or the most powerful SUV on your block, the new Durango lineup delivers in spades.
