More features are included in the new mid-spec option, which costs Rs 35,000 more than the Sportz variant.
- The new Sportz (O) version of the Hyundai i20 is priced starting at Rs 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Improvements to the interior include a sunroof and a wireless charger, as well as leather treatment on the armrests of the front row of seats.

- There are options for both manual and automatic transmissions.
For its high-end hatchback, the Hyundai i20, Hyundai has unveiled a new Sportz (O) version. The change looks to close the nearly one lakh rupee price difference between the top-end Asta variants and the mid-spec Sportz. Let’s examine the specific improvements that come with paying an extra Rs 35,000 over the Sportz variant.
Instead of the outside, the interior is where most of the improvements are concentrated.
Hyundai i20 Added leatherette
Overall, the new Sportz (O) variant’s cabin is comparable to the Sportz variant’s, but it has leather treatment on the front door armrests, adding a high-end touch.
Sunroof Hyundai i20
A popular feature on modern cars, the sunroof is now more affordable with the new Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) variant, though it is still only available with a manual transmission.
Wireless Phone Charger
The wireless charging pad is an additional feature that sets the new mid-spec i20 variant apart from the standard Sportz variant and contributes to a more luxurious cabin experience. This results in a center console that is cable-free when paired with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The Sportz variant, which you can examine in further detail here, is the only upgrade over this one aside from these improvements. In terms of aesthetics, the Sportz variant is not improved upon by the new Sportz (O). It shares the Sportz variant’s 16-inch steel wheels, LED taillights, and halogen headlights.
The Hyundai i20 is only available with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, which can produce up to 88 PS and 115 Nm of combined power. It is available with a CVT-style automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. The turbo-petrol option is exclusive to the Sportier i20 N Line.
The Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) variant’s price ranges from Rs 8.73 lakh to Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom), contingent on the selected transmission and color. Its competitors include Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.
