Maruti Suzuki Upcoming:For release in the upcoming three to four years, Maruti Suzuki is presently working on a number of new models. The company intends to launch the new generation, Swift, in 2024 and, in the latter part of the year, the completely redesigned Dzire. Furthermore, late 2024 may see the eVX’s much-anticipated world premiere.
The YY8 skateboard platform, which is based on Toyota’s global 27PL architecture, will serve as the foundation for the company’s first electric SUV. The market can anticipate the release of the seven-seat Grand Vitara, internally referred to as the Y17, in 2025, thanks to this platform, which will also serve as the basis for a Toyota equivalent.
The Indo-Japanese manufacturer is developing a sub-four-meter MPV to compete with Renault Kiger, in addition to planning a micro SUV and a zero-emission MPV based on the same platform as the eVX. Its platform will be the Maruti Suzuki Spacia, which is sold in Japan, and it is expected to come with the upcoming hybrid electrical system.
Due to Maruti Suzuki’s internal development, the hybridized system will have a significant amount of local content. The Fronx facelift, which debuted last year, will be the first model to use this technology. Four other models, including the fifth-generation Swift and the upcoming Baleno, will follow. Compared to the powerful hybrid system found in the Grand Vitara and Hyryder, it will be different.
The powertrain in this instance will function as a generator in a manner akin to that of the Nissan e-Power system. Together with an electric motor and a battery pack, the Z-series 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engine, which makes its debut in the new Swift this year, will form the HEV system, which is expected to enable a claimed fuel efficiency of over 35 kmpl.
The next compact MPV, codenamed YDB, will go on sale in the fall and be positioned below the Ertiga. It will have seven seats and be called the Spacia. Although there is a good chance the YDB will eventually make its way into Nexa dealerships, a launch is not anticipated anytime soon.
