Jeep Wrangler: In the Indian market, there is no premium off-road SUV market. There is only the Jeep Wrangler, which is a somewhat pricey alternative. If Great Wall Motors (GWM) introduces the Tank 300 and joins the Indian market, this could be altered. It might support GWM’s brand establishment in India. With more options than the Jeep Wrangler, the Tank 300 can also compete. We’ll look at the Rs 20 lakh Jeep Wrangler rivalry in today’s piece.
Dimensions
The Tank 300’s dimensions are about the same as those of its primary competitor, the Jeep Wrangler. The Tank 300 measures 1930 mm in width, 1927 mm in height, and 4760 mm in length. It had 224mm of ground clearance and a 2750mm wheelbase.
Design
The Tank 300 receives an updated design that closely resembles the Jeep Wrangler. With its round headlamps separated by LED DRLs up front, it appears to have been influenced by the Ford Bronco. A large grille featuring a large tank logo in the center is also added to the Wrangler rival. Apart from the large wheel arches, the side profile is kept simple. The spare wheel and squared-off tail lamps are located at the back. GWM has paid close attention to the Tank 300’s interior, offering excellent fit and finish.
Specifications
A body-on-frame chassis is included with the Tank 300 for improved off-roading. A 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 227 horsepower and an 8-speed automated gearbox powers the Tank 300 worldwide. The Tank 300 has a maximum speed of 170 km/h and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds.
Jeep Wrangler competition – Features
Many comfort elements are included with the Tank 300 to provide you with the ultimate off-roading experience. It has two 12.3-inch panels for infotainment and instrument clusters, a Harman sound system, linked cat tech, and a chassis perspective. To improve its safety, GWM has also added ADAS technology. Because of this, the Wrangler competitive SUV is a pleasant vehicle to be in.
Launch and pricing
GWM hasn’t formally joined the Indian market yet. Therefore, it is difficult to predict if it will introduce the Tank 300. GWM can introduce the Tank 300 to challenge the Jeep Wrangler, drawing influence from the Mahindra Thar. The cost of this Wrangler tournament is $35,000 in Australia. This converts to around 19 lakh Indian rupees. The Indian market has a large number of buyers for the Tank 300 at this price point. It will require localization.
