2026 Aston Martin DBX S: A 717-HP V-8 Beast with Track-Inspired Upgrades

Aston Martin DBX-1

Aston Martin DBX: The new Aston Martin DBX redefines its standard in the performance department once again. Aston Martin already announced the DBX S 2026, a power beast, as a more effective version of its leading luxury SUV.DBX 707 will have 717 horsepower, while DBX S will focus on weight-saving.

  • The 2026 Aston Martin DBX S is another version of the marque’s sports utility vehicle developed for high performance and based on Valhalla technology that extracts an extra 20 horsepower from the twin-turbocharged V-8 engine.
  • With an impressive total of 717 hp, the DBX S could then sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds. Finally, we add to the DBX S the carbon-fiber top, which now weighs almost 40 fewer pounds, and magnesium wheels reduce another 42 pounds of unsprung mass.

The Aston Martin DBX, introduced back in 2021 and the first SUV in Aston Martin’s lineup, was a benchmark against which all future models would be measured; A twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine cranks out 542 hp. In the year 2023, enhancements in performance were by the DBX 707, which racked up an output of 697 hp. As of 2025, only the DBX 707 was offered; almost. For 2026, Aston Martin is back at it yet again, with the unveiling of a brand-new high-performance DBX S.

More Power, Less Weight

The DBX S, however, comes with the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine as an option, with different engineering to mimic that found on the hybrid hypercar Valhalla. Among these changes are larger turbocharger compressor wheels and other subtler internal adjustments, ultimately bringing an increase of 20 hp to 717 hp. Speeding off from a standstill, the DBX S reaches 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and 124 mph in just 0.3 seconds before the DBX 707 reaches the same speed. The maximum velocity will still be 193 miles per hour, which makes the DBX S one of the quickest in its class.

The DBX S is equipped with the same high-performance all-wheel-drive system that allows 100% of all available torque to be transferred to the rear axle for use by the rear wheels, just like the DBX 707. It still uses a nine-speed automatic but with more aggressive downshifts in Sport and Sport+ mode, as well as revised upshift logic to account for its higher rev ceiling. The redesigned exhaust system purposely matches the beastly growl with the engine’s new power.

Weight reduction was another focus for the DBX S, with several optional features aimed at cutting mass. One such option is a new carbon-fiber roof—the largest piece of carbon fiber Aston Martin has ever used, which eliminates the roof rails and trims nearly 40 pounds from the vehicle’s weight.

By cutting 41.9 pounds of unsprung mass, Aston Martin also brought 23-inch lightweight magnesium wheels with DBX S, compared to the regular set of forged aluminum wheels offered to accompany the car. According to the automobile manufacturer, these wheels will weigh less and improve ride quality.

With steering feel and overall handling. If intending to use magnesium wheels with the automatic carbon-fiber roof, the inclusion of the roof rails is not necessary. By the way, Aston Martin says there will soon be a new lightweight polycarbonate grille, but it has been coy concerning the said weight savings.

The steering system also gets a dose of a 4 percent quicker revised ratio, which improves responsiveness and shortens the turning radius by about 1.6 ft in the tight spots of most city streets. This makes a huge difference. And it bears the same revised setup for air suspension that debuted in the DBX 707 last year.

Carbon Touches and Sporty Details

In terms of design, the DBX S differs from the 707 with a few touches. Above this new front splitter is a blacked-out grille, while newly defined side skirts and an “S” badge on the front fenders define the high-performance nature of this car. Optional carbon-fiber parts are available for the side mirrors, door sills, and trim. In the rear, the bumper and diffuser have been reshaped, and the quad exhaust tips are now stacked vertically, offered in gloss black or matte.

Redesigned in the rear bumper and diffuser, the quad exhaust tips are now stacked vertically, available in gloss black or matte. Replacing the rear wing and inserts of the side sills, diffuser, and bumper with carbon fiber would further save 15.4 lbs in weight. Exterior accents can be finished in striking colors, like Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver, and Podium Green.

Inside, the DBX S brings seats done in an exclusive herringbone pattern, which could extend to the headliner should the carbon roof be specified. Interiors, big and small, are completed by Alcantara-from seats and dashboard to the center console. Further seating is carried out with semi-aniline leather bolsters for another layer of luxury. Full leather treatment is available if the customer prefers Alcantara-less interiors. The occupants are reminded of the extraordinary nature of the DBX by the presence of signature red seat belts and embroidered “S” logos. The 14-speaker audio system comes as standard, with an optional 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins upgrade for the audiophiles.

There have been no fixations on the price of the DBX S, but sales of these cars are imminent. Since the 2025 DBX 707 launches at staggering prices starting from $256,086, we expect the DBX S to climb much higher into a range nearer to $300,000. Deliveries are expected at the close of the year’s final quarter.
