Kia debuted its three-row SUV, the Carens MPV, at the 2023 Auto Expo. It was designed specifically for emergency services in our nation. Of them, one was customised specifically for the police, and the manufacturer has now given the Punjab Police 71 of these uniquely customised cars. For this purpose, let’s examine the modifications made to the standard Carens.
The extra customisations that these specially designed Carens offer are their main focus. When an emergency arises, its high-intensity strobe lights, which produce regular flashes, are turned on. They also have “Dial 112 – Emergency Response Vehicle” decals on the outside and personal assistance systems (PA systems).
In order to guarantee the proper operation of the extra equipment installed, the cars also have a 60 Ah battery. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 PS and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Prior to this, the specially designed Carens on display at the 2023 Auto Expo had extra technology, like a message board on top that might be useful in the event of a highway accident. For communication, there was also a Citizens Band (CB) radio included. Note, however, that these are purpose-built cars that can be customised to meet specific needs.
