The new Amaze, Verna N-Line, C3X, and Dzire generations will breathe new life into the sedan market in India
Sedans
Sedans: SUVs are now the most popular vehicle among new buyers, so sedans are undoubtedly losing ground. That said, the sedans continue to do well in terms of sales numbers. Making use of this trend, automakers aren’t holding back when launching new sedans into the Indian market. Sedans are very practical and comfortable vehicles that provide a comfortable driving experience for the occupants. Now let’s examine the upcoming sedans that India will be seeing this year.
Maruti Suzuki New-Gen Dzire
Recently, spy testing of the new-generation Dzire’s near-production test prototype took place in India. Even though the overall shape of the vehicle appears to be unchanged from the previous generation, it will receive similar design cues from the new Swift, such as an updated headlamp and taillight setup, a new front grille and new bumpers.
Anticipated to make its debut by the middle of 2024, the new Dzire will utilise the same chassis and engine as its hatchback sibling. The new 1.2-liter three-pot mild hybrid petrol engine will power the compact sedan. It will be mated to a CVT gearbox and a 5-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai Verna N-Line
The 1.5-liter tGDi petrol engine of the new Hyundai Verna, which debuted in March of last year, produces 158 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque, making it a popular choice for customers seeking performance. The sheer performance of this engine is truly impressive, but the steering and suspension system of the sedan must work harder to keep up with it.
The Verna N-Line is set to launch shortly to bridge this gap. A few months ago, the sedan was also spotted spying. It will receive a number of styling changes, including sporty alloy wheels, red accents throughout, and more. Along with a dual-tip exhaust, we anticipate modifications to the suspension and steering geometry to provide a more sporty driving experience.
New-Gen Honda Amaze
An update to the current generation of Honda Amaze is now due. The next-generation Amaze, which is anticipated to launch by the end of 2024, will run on an upgraded variant of the current PF2 platform. The well-known 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine, which can produce 110 Nm of peak torque and 90 bhp, will remain available for the Indian market. The latest models of the brand, such as the City and Accord sold in foreign markets, will be represented in the design language. ADAS is also coming to the 2024 New-Gen Amaze.
Citroen C3X
Citroen is presently developing the C3X, a new coupe intended for the Indian market, as everyone knows. We can refer to it as a high-riding sedan even though it’s not a true low-slung car. The future C3X, which has been seen undergoing several spy tests on Indian roads, will share many parts with the C3 Aircross while also having a very different design.
It is anticipated that the ground clearance will fall within the 200 mm range of the C3 Aircross. While its electric version may make its debut by early 2025, the launch is anticipated to occur in mid-2024. The 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 189 Nm of peak torque and 108 horsepower, will power the C3X.
